About District Library (Gurugram)
District Public Library Guru gram is situated in heart of the city. The foundation of the Library was laid by Honorable Sh. B. N. Chakraborty, Governor of Haryana, way back on Aug 29, 1970. The Library was inaugurated by Honorable Sh. Shashikant Mishra, commissioner and secretary Govt. of Haryana on Aug15, 1973. It is a semi-automated library upgraded in 2019 with a good collection of 53072 books. The library has subscribed to 12 newspapers in both Hindi and English languages. The library charges Rs. 510 for its lifetime membership and has 5093 active life members. The library has a fully air-conditioned hall with a sitting capacity of 265 readers at a time. Library serves approximately 300-325 readers on daily basis. 7 working hours (10 AM-5 PM), 6 Working Days (Saturday-Thursday) Library has a Computer Lab, CCTV monitoring, Fire alarm facilities.
